Guidelines for Field Quality Assurance Plan

A detailed Field Quality Plan is prepared by the Project manager at site based on the following guidelines.

1. QUALITY REQUIREMENT
Upon award of the contract, the Project Manager identifes customer quality control requirements, meet the owners engineer and finalise quality control requirements applicable to items of work required as per contract.

2. TESTING LABORATORY

A complete quality control laboratory is set up for testing of bought out materials, on site construction works as decided while firming up quality requirements. The testing is done at regular intervals for batches received at the site. Random samples are collected & tested. All the relevant codes are available to ensure that the specifications are adhered to.

3. MANPOWER DEPLOYMENT
A qualified Q/C technician/engineer ensures that the proposed quality control plan is adhered to. He is responsible for all material testing, work checks & ensure that the field staff follows the Q/C plan. He is responsible for compiling all the reports/formats and submit to the Owner. Besides the field staff is given the field quality plan, which is the guideline for quality control for the work to be executed.

4. PREPARATION OF FORMATS/ REGISTERS FOR RECORD

Relevant formats as per the companys Q/C booklet are filled. Checklists are made as desired at regular intervals. This documentation is submitted to the owner/consultant as per the agreed guidelines.

5. IDENTIFICATION OF CUSTOMER HOLD POINTS

Each stage of work at the field is taken up only after the Q/C measures are adhered to. Customer hold points to ensure that the major items of work are executed only after prior approval of the owner/consultant.

6. DEVIATION

If a variation is found between the result and the acceptable limit, the same is brought to the notice of the owner. This is discussed and resolved mutually. Unacceptable work is rejected and removed/ rectified as per agreed manner.
